The future of tech might have come to a bit of a standstill – now that smartphones have revolutionised the way that we live and work – What could possibly be next?

The likes of Apple, Samsung and others are forced to seriously challenge their own abilities and re-think their models in order to grow creativity and innovation. ”We are clearly entering a new era where growth of traditional devices has ended and you have to think differently,” O’Donnell said – via @bizcommunity.com.

While sales skyrocketed during a time when smartphones and tablets were the in thing – this is not the time to become too comfortable, for these tech savvy developers. There’s a world out there which has been exposed to advanced tech and, now they want more. They want the next best thing!

Taking a closer look at the direction which tech is taking – it would seem plausible that we could expect a merge between players like Facebook, Amazon, Intel and others – with, hardware, software, virtual reality and artificial intelligence combined.

“Looking to the future, the next big step will be for the very concept of the ‘device’ to fade away,” says Sundar Pichai, chief executive of Alphabet unit Google.

“The biggest opportunity in the Internet of Things is that it encompasses just about everything in our lives today,” said Intel CEO Brian Krzanich in a blog post.

I think it’s safe to say that we should expect the unexpected and, all the while remain patient and wait for the ultimate game changer in tech to come.
