The Federal Communications Commission on Thursday released the set of net neutrality rules meant to protect the open Internet and bring broadband services under stricter regulation.

The rules, which were approved last month in a 3-2 vote, reclassify high-speed Internet under Title II of the 1934 Communications Act, deeming it a telecommunications service instead of an information service, and makes it illegal for Internet Service Providers and many large cable and telephone companies to prioritize some content over others.
